Biography

Joe is an emerging voice in the exciting New York City music scene. Known for his musical versatility and intensity, he is an in-demand drummer for a variety of genres ranging from jazz and R&B to rock and pop.

Graduating from the esteemed Jazz Studies program at William Paterson University in 2020, Joe studied under such luminaries as Bill Goodwin, Bill Charlap, Jeremy Pelt and Mike LeDonne. Continuing his education after school, he pursued mentorship from Billy Hart and Joe Farnsworth.

Joe has performed at an array of New York’s music hotspots, including Barclays Center, Smalls Jazz Club, Ornithology Jazz Club, Arlene’s Grocery, Mercury Lounge and countless others. He has shared the stage with stars including Lil Kim and Run DMC, as well as jazz veterans such as Akiko Tsuruga.

Since moving to New York in 2021, Joe is frequently making people dance to his drums. He regularly performs with his fusion trio, the Casey Rabito Trio, the southern rock-influenced Barndog, and singer-songwriter Joey Whelan. He is also on call for a range of freelance work on stage, at private events, and in the studio.

In addition to performing, Joe has several years of teaching experience. Whether you’re picking up sticks for the first time or looking to expand your skillset, Joe will develop an individualized approach to help you meet your goals!
